Hello, my name is Rachel and I’m a self taught artist based in Cambridge, UK. I live with my partner Simon and my cat Dorothy
I work mostly in oil and watercolour, with subjects ranging from traditional landscapes to more abstract works. Coming from a science background, including a degree in Botany, I am drawn to the natural world. Living in East Anglia the land is very flat so my work often includes fields. I love the shapes and patterns that I find outdoors and the vast range of colour’s available. Nature never fails to amaze me with the new hues that I discover. I try to bring this into my work wherever possible.
I have extended my love of working with colour into more abstract forms with an interest in repetition.
I have a small studio area at the back of my house where I can be found most evenings and weekends. I try to keep it tidy but usually fail! I am typically experimenting with new media and techniques, looking to ever expand my range of skills.
